Millie and Lindsey

Millie Therapy Dog

I knew the minute I rescued Millie a few months ago that I wanted her to become a therapy dog. Her calm, friendly demeanor is the perfect mix for bringing joy to those around her.

As a former teacher, I saw firsthand how impactful therapy dog visits were for my students—and for me as well. Those moments not only supported student engagement but also my own mental health.

As someone who already volunteers in my community—I coach for the Special Olympics and help run the Emerging Artists Expo at the Corn Hill Arts Festival—I understand how important outreach and community involvement are. I wanted Millie to also have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

My hope is to bring her to schools, nursing homes, and hospitals to spread love and comfort to those who need it most. As I explore new roles in the learning and training corporate space, I would also love to bring her into trainings to help reduce stress and ease corporate pressures for team members.

Millie has brought love back into my home after the loss of my first dog, Frankie, and I would be honored to share that love with others in my community.
